Sanchez wrote in today suggesting some kind of time line on how
things might go this weekend. After calling my partner in
crime...Vicki...again (/wink) and tossing around some things...we
came up with this for a time line.
August 10th
~ Flannery's at 8pm-till? They know we are going to take them
by "storm" and they are ready for us. Or as Dan said, "I've
imbibed many times at Flannery's and while the beer can be cheap,
the bar smoky and the patrons charming, the service is almost always
lousy because there is only one person working the bar.
Maybe you could call Flannery's and tell them about
the hurricane that is about to hit so they have another set of
beer-pouring hands available Friday night and enough popcorn for the
free popcorn machine."
August
11th ~ THE MAIN
EVENT AT THE BLUE CHIP!
A. You can
expect to show up and register at the door at 6pm. I'm sure
that someone will be on hand early to kick it off (I'm (Kelly)
always 30 mins early to large events).
B. There will be
a SILENT AUCTION for at least 4 grouping of items. It will be
done in White Elephant style, which means there will be 4 boxes with
labels on them (*like Men's, Women's. Family, CHS*) This is
used to create funds for the next reunion that will be used for
deposits, stamps and other supplies. We wanted to have a 50/50
raffle but that is gambling and we can not do that per the Blue
Chip.
C. We will also
have a donation box. If you don't want to do the Silent
Auction you can just donate to the Class of 1987 cause.
D. SPEECH!
SPEECH! A few choice words from your Reunion Committee!

E. This part may
change after Wednesday so keep checking the site that day. We
have a photographer coming in...to do the group picture. The
time will be 6:45 ... Just before dinner. I suggested and this
is the catch....Vicki will be talking to him directly and we are
trying to change it to 8pm instead. We will not know until
Wednesday for sure......so it will be 6:45 until we hear different.
I am also working on a video person so we can post it on the net for
the classmates that can not be with us or are serving our county.
F. FOOD FIGHT
starts in the cafeteria starts at 7 pm in the buffet style.
G. Insert 8 pm

H. I (Kelly)
have come up with like 5 questions that have gifts tagged to each
question. This will be done at 8 pm or after the Photographer
(8 pm)...See line E and G.
I. Various Door
prizes will be given through out the night.
J. 8:30 pm ish.
SOCK HOP!!! Let the dancing and music begin in full swing.
K. 10 pm ish....Silent
Auction ends. 10:30 pm ish the Gifts for Silent Auction
L. Parting is
such sweet sorrow. The official event ends at 11:30.
M. I am still
working on this one but a general place to go if you want to keep

Beach! I am thinking about 10 am for a hook up time but any
time of day will work. We will discuss this more at the
official event on the 11th but for now lets call it 10 am.

Bill Dolak wrote me and asked what is or are we still doing semi formal ... So of course I
called Vicki. LMAO We decided that you should have a nice pair
of shoes, very nice jeans and some kind of dress shirt (also nice).
Anything over and beyond that is cool of course.
Keep watching the News page for upcoming information....I think we
have something in the mix for the day before and after but we don't
have it locked in for sure yet. It's going to depend on a few
things. Look for the updates on Monday the 6th of August.

like we are up to 126 people as of today! That's Huge!

Hey
guys!
As
the time draws near...Make sure you come to the website first for
updates. We will be fully using the NEWS page for last minute
updates...and you know there will be some! So if your coming
into town then check here in the last few days leading up to the
event. You may also call Kelly Dooley if you need to and do
not have internet access....219-331-1185
Well, some of you got messages on your answering services from Lori,
Vicki and Kelly today and we spoke with a few of you. The good
news is we are up to 102 people as of this morning and the better
news is we reached 25-50 classmates that said they are coming and
sending in their reservations. I believe this will be the
largest gathering of classmates ever!
The
deadline is August 1, 2007 so send in those reservations. If
you need to talk to someone directly then give Kelly Dooley a call
at 219-331-1185 and leave a message if he does not pick up.
If
you decided not to come and you know how to contact someone then of
course let us know who they are and how we can get a hold of them.
I
want to thank each and every person that has helped contact
classmates...It has been a HUGE help!

Greetings all! Its been a while since I posted any news so you
should know that your post cards and final mailing is on it's way to
you. Vicki is working hard to get them out by the end of the
week.
The
DJ is locked and ready to spin some great music. If you have
any requests from the 80's that you want him to play then you need
to go to

and submit the form (Enter the event as Aug 11 CHS 1987). That way he will make sure to have it
available. Over all I do not think the reunion will be over
run with 80's music...just so that you know. It's about having
fun and if it means more current music then that's what we are going
to do (that is basically what feed back I have been getting from the
classmates). Just enter
Some great news is that we now have a total of 70 people confirmed
for the event. We are almost there....we get the best deal at
100 so that's just 30 more people; at minimum I expect that number
will at least double over the next month. Check out the
confirmation page to see the who's who list.
If
you did not receive and invite that is no reason not to come.
I have posted on the site a couple of times that this is your
invite. Don't wait for it to come in the mail just send it in
and come join us for a great night.

Hey all!
Kelly Dooley here
on behalf of your Reunion Committee. I'm not sure how to put this
so I'm going to just say it and get it out there. You may or may
not be checking the site for news and such but here is the skinny
on what we need....
The problem is
we need the "cash" ... I told ya I was just going to say it
didn't I.
We need your
commitments mailed back to us. We only have 11 class mates,
besides the committee, committed to coming. Average that 2 people
are coming from each person then that is only 22! Now I know a
lot more people want to come.
We can not go any
further then we are now with out more confirmations on who is
coming. Our best deal comes if we get 100 people minimum (class
mates and guests) committed (paid) to coming. That is not to say
that if we don't then we are not having it so don't start the
rumor mill going :) . We had 82 I think at the 15th so we can
break 100 for the 20th no sweat!

if you are planning to come. If your not coming then send me one
so I can quit bugging. I promise not to hunt you down! lol
but......
I want to share 3
things with you that might change your mind about coming:
1. I have heard
a lot of people say they did not know if they were going to come
because they are not in contact with any class mates. Now that is
just crazy talk! A definition of reunion is: A party of
former associates (classmates would be an example of
associates) who have come together. We get together to see
people we used to go to school with and this is
a type of group that you belong to; like
it or not :) Almost like a different kind of family. If you
reconnect with just one classmate then it was well worth it!
2. My story from
the 15th reunion in Michigan City was this... Now, I had not
planned on going to the 15th because I really did not have a good
time at the 10th yet I had a strong need (pull) to go. While I
was having a great time and many beers... 2 people walk up to me
(nameless) and pull me aside different times. Both of these
people told me that if it was not for me they felt that they would
have never made it though their high school years. I knew the
reason why I went. It has been my life goal to help people and
make a difference. Well, I did! I'm sure it was more then 2
people but those 2 people made it all worth it...more then money
it's self for me! I'm sure these 2 passed it on some how to
others and so on and so on and so on....This story goes 2 ways.
Who is waiting to tell you or who are you waiting to tell
something important.
3. I was not
part of the last Committees but let me tell you something...they
work their butts off to make this happen; it's a lot of work! I
want to THANK each and everyone of them for pulling it all off.

Hey guys!
Kelly here with what is needed and wanted from your Reunion
committee. We need you to confirm as soon as you can. I
have been getting a lot of emails asking if we are going to do this
or that. Well, we really don't know because people have not
RSVP yet (only 8 as of this date). The fact of the matter is
we spent most of the money we had on the hall/food and in order to
do the rest and finish paying for what we got we need you to RSVP
and send in your payment.
I have heard it
said that we have the BEST reunions and the MOST
people in attendance. Let keep that proud Class of 1987
So if your
still sitting there think about it...MAKE THE MOVE AND RSVP AS SOON
AS YOU CAN.

Ok we have some

news! We were able to drop about 20 names off the MIA list!
Woo hoo! Bad news we had to add about 20 names from return
mailers. Special shout outs to Vicki for her hard work in
tracking people down, Terri Prott for catching an omission to the
Memoriam
page, and Diane DeRango for assisting with the Most Wanted page
omissions.

Just got an
email requesting if the event was smoking or non-smoking. In
the banquet room it will be non-smoking and just out side the room
in the main hallway will be smoking.

Looks like the
rooms are going to be $139 on Friday night and $149 on Saturday
Night. We should have the forms returned to them with in the
next couple of days so you can book rooms. The block is for 10
on Friday and 25 on Saturday.

2007, March 30th
Today your Reunion Committee met to finalize some item that needed
to be handled:
1. We now have a time for the event on August 11th which is 6
pm - 11:30 pm and it will be a semi formal event.
2. We made a flyer and it should be out in the mail by Monday
or so. Thank you to Vicki Fancher-Keller and Dana Asbridge-Gilbertson
for the time spent on getting these ready and out the door.
Once these mailer start getting returned because of a wrong address,
the Most
Wanted page will expand. Your committee will be
trying to track some down by phone but please keep checking this
page to see if you can help locate some of your fellow classmates.
3. We set a target to have as many as we can go this year to
make it our best reunion ever! We have over 380 names and
addresses so the sooner that we can hear from you on if your coming
the better. Try not to wait to the last minute if it can be
helped. There is still much to do for your Committee.
5. If you might
have some idea on how to contact a classmate then take the few
minutes to do so. Send them to the website or call in to Vicki
at 219-926-2508 or Kelly Dooley at 219-331-1185. Please leave
a message with as much data as you can. Name, address, phone
number or email address.
4. We are thinking about a golf outing if anyone is
interested. If you are then email
raistmore@yahoo.com and Kelly will start a list.
5. We also are considering having a picnic the next day.
We could use some feed back on how many are interested in this.

6. It was decided that we are going to invite some of our
fellow students that attended school with us but were not able to
graduate with us do to moving or what have you. If you are one

and last name with address, email, and phone number).
7. We have not heard on what the room rates will be so keep
checking back if your considering it. Kelly is trying to get
special rates and we hope to hear from them soon.
8. The cost of this event is going to be $30.00 per person.
You may or may not remember but we only had a $15 fee for the 15th
reunion but it was on a much smaller scale. We wanted to do
something special for our Class this 20th year reunion.
9. We also decided on what food and a DJ.
10. As the time
approaches we will be mail out post cards to update you with any new
data like golf outing or a picnic the next day. You may
wish to just keep checking the site for updates on the News page.
11. Kelly
reported that we had, about, 50-65 people who sent in updated
addresses since the site went live in Nov. 2006.
